1987-88 Television Season

Fox debuted a national weekend schedule in the fall of 1987. Though it aired in the 7:00 p.m. slot and thus is not on our grid, 21 Jump Street was one of Fox's few successes. Other shows that began before 8:00 p.m. on Sunday (and not on the grid below) also include 60 Minutes, Our House, and the Disney Sunday Movie.

The top five shows of 1987-88 were Growing Pains, Golden Girls, Cheers, Different World, with the most popular being Cosby Show. (See below for the list of the top 30 programs.)
